On this Saturday on my travels, I didn’t just leave Kimberley but also the Cape Province. Goodbye Cape Province hello Free State. The road was very narrow and it took me sometime to get used to the new road users in the Free State. Although the road was very narrow and had to concentrate more than before its was a very nice scenic trip. Surrounded with game farms on either side of me, so I could see a lot of wildlife. I walked past the game farm Leeukop that belongs to 2 former springbok rugby players Andre Venter and Chris Badenhorst. After a hard 32km I reached my destination for the night, the farm of Tiekie and Marlene Combrink, who showed me some Free State hospitality and treated me with a very nice braai with some of their friends.
I was told the a old school friend of mine, Abraham v/d Merwe was their minister for years at the church in Boshoff and that he passed away last year of brain cancer. Every where I go and everyone I talked to has experienced the big C in someway.
